Ending a lease presents you with more options, all of which requiring less time and effort than selling a vehicle private party. Below we’ll go over the options you can select when going through York Chevrolet’s easy return lease process. Can You End a Car Lease Early?

If for whatever reason you want to end your lease early, whether you can or not depends on the terms of your lease. See what your lease paperwork says about returning it early to see what your situation is. Turning a lease in early will generally come with additional fees that are due when the lease is turned in. In some cases, those fees don’t apply if you are buying out the lease. Get in touch with our finance center for details.

Lease-End Options and Lease-End Process at York Chevrolet

Either of these options can be selected in advance of your lease being up, so when you turn in your lease, you can go directly to your next vehicle. 

In addition to those seamless options, York Chevrolet offers some more traditional options like selecting a vehicle from our inventory. Here’s a list of our options available to our  Cloverdale and Coatsville customers at the ends of their leases:

  • Reserve incoming vehicle, seamless with VIP
  • Custom order vehicle, seamless with VIP
  • Select vehicle off the lot
  • Purchase the vehicle you’ve leased
  • Complete lease end process and buy another vehicle

You have plenty of options to choose from, but unless you select to buy your current leased vehicle, here’s how to return it at the end of the lease:

Preparing the Vehicle for Lease Return

  • Wash the vehicle, and clean it thoroughly. Remove personal effects.
  • Look for scratches and have them buffed out.
  • If there are small dings or dents, have a paintless dent removal company fix them.

Scheduling the Lease Inspection

Make sure your vehicle is prepared, and then schedule the lease inspection at least 90 days before the lease end date. The inspection will look for the following:

  • Dents, dings, scratches, and scrapes on the exterior
  • Cracks, stars, or excessive pitting on the windshield and in the windows
  • Abnormal tire wear
  • Upholstery tears and stains that can’t be repaired or cleaned with normal refurbishing
